Alliance of Leading Technical Universities (TU9) Celebrates 10th Anniversary
In 2006, nine leading technical universities joined together under the umbrella of TU9. Then as now, the TU9 universities make a significant contribution to the advancement of Germany as a location for science and innovation through their research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. At the same time, they repeatedly represent the interests of engineering sciences toward politics and society.
On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, TU9 hosted a symposium on October 11, 2016, focusing on the future of Germany as a science and innovation hub.
In keynote speeches by Germany’s Federal Research Minister Prof. Dr. Wanka and acatech President Prof. Dr. Kagermann, followed by a panel discussion with prominent decision-makers from science, politics, and industry, participants shared their ideas on the future of Germany as a location for science and innovation. They also discussed what contributions the TU9 universities can make toward realizing this future. TU Vienna Rector Sabine Seidler, as the current president of TU Austria, together with Elke Standeker, Secretary General of TU Austria, conveyed congratulations from Austria.
